Inverness Wine Appreciation Society
About us
The Inverness Wine Appreciation Society was founded in 1970 by a group of amateurs who enjoyed wine and were interested to learn more about it. Over the years the Society has grown and now has approximately 60 members. Whilst the Society exists simply to promote the enjoyment of wine, members have had the opportunity to obtain WSET level 2 qualifications, and more recently a few have gone on to achieve WSET 3.
The Society maintains its own cellar stock of wines, laid down over the years, for use at the banquets held every five years.
Meetings are held on the last Monday of the month from September to May, inclusive, and consist of a tasting of themed wines, generally presented by a member of the wine trade, followed by a one course supper. If you would like more information about the Society please email the Hon. Secretary at hon.seciwas@gmail.com
New members are always welcome — the only entry requirement is a love of wine.
